About PEGGYPEGGY LUNDY has a unique background in political consulting, business and political facilitation, political communications and court ordered mediations. She is a specialist in all of these disciplines and is considered an expert in judicial campaigns both primary and general election contests. As a political consultant PEGGY LUNDY has directed the successful campaigns of candidates for judge, Congress and the Texas House of Representatives, including authoring the focus group material used statewide for former Governor George Bush’s 1994 and 1996 gubernatorial campaigns. She has worked extensively with members of the media, legislature, and judiciary, religious and civic communities. PEGGY LUNDY was the Director of Communications for the conservative think-tank The Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF) where she successfully coordinated the national media campaign book advance for “Make Government Work: A Conservative Agenda for the States,” compiled and edited by the late Tex Lezar, former Assistant U.S. Attorney General in the first Reagan presidential term. She also handled constituent concerns for the late State of Texas Representative August (Augie) Ovard. She continues to use her skills in this legislative arena with Texas State Representative Bill Keffer, District 107-Dallas. She is the liaison for his office to the various constituencies both in district and out that are interested in legislative changes, information, explanations and assistance. PEGGY LUNDY has worked in practically every area of the media most recently as a radio talk show host for Dallas radio station 990AM Texas Talk Radio. She had free range with her show topics and her listeners often asked for her opinions and comments on election predictions, elected officials, judges and legislation. She was a syndicated writer with the New York Times Syndication Wire Service and freelance contributor to magazines and newspapers including the Dallas Morning News Viewpoints. Her first screenplay, Soldier of the Heart, was considered a promising new property by one of Hollywood’s top producers. Soldier of the Heart won Honorable Mention in the 1st Annual American Film Renaissance Festival Screenwriting Competition in Los Angeles. She is a frequent guest on radio talk shows, community debates, discussion panels and political blogs. The BBC interviewed her on U.S. veterans affairs for a documentary about Vietnam War widows. Her moving piece, “She Doesn’t’ Scream,” a personal essay on the death of her husband was one of the most popular articles ever published in the Dallas Morning News Sunday Life Magazine. PEGGY’S wide range of contacts was established over more than thirty years of experience. She was the Marketing Director of Franchise Sales for a major fast food mega-company and traveled extensively before coming to Texas in 1978. Her management experience began in 1975 and she is an award winning Director and Manager with strong people skills and a proactive leadership approach to paid and volunteer staff support. PEGGY LUNDY believes deeply in community involvement and served a six year term as a member of the City of Dallas Judicial Nominating Commission, appointed by the Dallas City Council to screen, qualify and recommend Dallas municipal judges and administrative law judges. She is a former member of the Dallas County HIV Services Planning Commission, appointed by Dallas County Judge Lee Jackson to distribute and monitor all Title I and Title II federal funds appropriated to Dallas County under the Ryan White Act of 1990. A sampling of Peggy’s civic memberships includes the Chamber of Commerce of Dallas, D/FW World Affairs Council, Old Lake Highlands Homeowners Association, Friends of the Arboretum, numerous Republican Clubs and Associations and the Criswell College Women’s Auxiliary. PEGGY LUNDY is
the widow of Judge Nick Lundy who died in 1991 from complications
stemming from his service as a U.S. Army combat officer during the
1967 – 1968 Tet Offensive in Vietnam. Judge Lundy is buried in the
DFW National Cemetery in Grand Prairie Texas. |
